94 / 100"Houghton clone, 18 days on skins, 16 months in French oak (30% new). Great flavour intensity that deep dives on the palate: raspberry, blackberry, mulberry and blood plum are laced together by a spicy line of tannin that whips around, creating line and length. This wine gives great satisfaction. It may not be the most complex wine, but it is desperately delicious."

Tasting Notes
Ascension selection came from vibrancy freshness and varietal expression. The fruit was destemmed to static fermenters , the batch was cold soaked for added fruit richness. The wine were pumped over three times a day at the start of ferment and reduced later on in ferment once extraction is met. The wine completed MLF in barrel and matured for 14-16 months in 30% new French barriques. No fining was used for this Cabernet Sauvignon.
Deep brick red colour with purple tints. Seductive blue fruits, dark chocolate with rich lifted violets with sweet oak punch. A rich and lifted palate showing flavours of blue fruits, blackberry with salivating savouriness, concentration and ripe succulent tannins. Freshness and vibrancy on the palates adds to the fruit weight and sweet acidity. Oak gives the wine poise, finesse and density with a lovely brambly sweet acid drive to finish.
