93-29 / 100"This is bright and very minerally, with citrus fruit, sliced apples and hints of crushed stones. It’s medium-bodied, solid and structured on the palate with a firm finish, showing fine tannins at the end."

"The 2023 Ferran Blanc features notes of white peaches, candle wax, and lime leaves that hop from the glass, with wafts of cedar and wild thyme. The medium-bodied palate is crisp and tight-knit with a savory-laced finish. The blend is 83% Sauvignon Blanc and 17% Semillon."

"The 2023 Ferran Blanc has a slightly medicinal bouquet with touches of cough candy that complement the orchard fruit. The palate is well balanced with satisfying weight and lovely texture—slightly waxy, with touches of spice and a tang of marmalade on the finish. This is well worth seeking out."

"With both herbal and citrus aromas, this wine starts out somewhat steely but time in glass reveals a tangy rather vertical palate with both juicy pear and lemon peel, ending on a smooth, medium finish. Ageing in 30% new oak should broaden the palate. For the price, you can do far worse."

Tasting Notes
Always smooth and inviting, the wines of Château Ferran are particularly charming, and the 2023 vintage, a standout year for Graves whites, confirms this. With beautiful ripe fruit expressing notes of yellow fruits and more exotic nuances like pineapple and green mango, it is already so appealing! The palate offers a lovely balance between richness and freshness, with a high-quality finish that provides great balance, delicacy, and refinement, promising excellent aging potential.
The Lacoste family has meticulously overseen this cru since 1880, continuing Montesquieu’s vision for this terroir on the Martillac plateau by planting the first vine. Every effort is made to ensure these beautiful Pessac-Léognan wines find their place and identity among their prestigious neighbors.
Ferran remains a remarkable outsider, offering an attractive quality-price ratio for the appellation: a reliable choice for all enthusiasts!
