"This 25th anniversary release comes from such an exciting Clare Valley vintage that offer stunning value – stock the cellar! Pale lemon hue. Lovely citrus notes, but it is especially redolent of limes. Pleasing aromas of florals, but it is the limes to the fore – no surprise for a quality Clare Riesling. Fine acidity, so this is well balanced with impressive length. If you want to try a classic Clare Riesling, especially one so well priced, look no further. In good cellars, this has 12 to 20 years ahead of it. This is really good and a wine worthy of celebrating such an anniversary."

Tasting Notes

Made from a blend of parcels drawn from their three Riesling sites, this wine is crafted using only free run juice and cool fermentation. It once again delivers a classic Watervale Rizza with that forward fruit lift and delicate floral elements.

There’s a lifted perfume of orange and lime blossom with hints of musk, underlined with bath minerals. Old fashioned lemon barley cordial is underlaid by pristine, steely minerality. Aromatic bath salt lift carries through to the palate complemented by a pleasant chalkiness. There is a deceptively powerful concentration to this wine – it is exceptionally fine and finishes dry, without astringency. A hallmark of the great years is that commanding fruit weight that lingers alluringly in the mouth.

The generous fruit weight of this wine would pair incredibly with white anchovy, soft cheese and crusty bread. Peasant gourmet done right!
