98 / 100"From the block always known as The Eagle, planted in 1977, and still considered the best. It absolutely floods the senses with its glorious silk and velvet texture, its array of black fruits of every description, its superb tannin structure, and its low alcohol leaving the mouth as fresh as a spring day. A truly great wine."

Tasting Notes
Lovely lifted perfume of cherries and raspberries; also sandalwood and damp earth. The impression is of a rich concentrated wine displaying elevated complexity.
This 2012 Eagle has immense presence and mouth-feel. The weight of the wine is medium to full-bodied; the flavours on the palate are an accurate follow-on from the bouquet. There is sandalwood/cigar tobacco on the finish giving this wine a unique point of difference.
