94 / 100"More volume and concentration without the pucker and rockiness typical of the Montee de Tonnerre. This is a real crowd pleaser. A confluence of stone and orchard fruit on the palate. It shows old-vine power from a warmer site. While this is an ersatz grand cru for many, this doesn't quite deliver the clarity of some of its siblings."

"A brilliant wine in the making, Dauvissat's 2022 Chablis 1er Cru La Forest unfurls in the glass with youthfully reductive scents of citrus oil, crisp stone fruit, white flowers, oyster shell and subtle hints of orange blossom. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, with superb depth at the core and an electric finish, this cuvée has navigated the vintage's extremes with ease."

"Pure and focused, this is a gorgeous La Forest (written Forêt on the AOC map) with dense fruit packed onto the palate. Guava, plumcot and fresh croissant pop on the nose. The palate adds an aniseed influence. The rich mouthfeel is encased—even dominated—by resolutely firm acidity. This is one for the ages."

Tasting Notes
Domaine Vincent Dauvissat is known for its exceptional Chablis wines, often considered among the best in the region. The winery is known for its traditional winemaking techniques, which emphasize minimal intervention and the expression of terroir.
The grapes are crushed whole-cluster to maintain natural pH levels, followed by fermentations in enamel-lined tanks and some barrels. The wine is then aged in 6-8 year old barrels. This barrel aging is crucial to their style, as it promotes ample oxygen exchange rather than aiming for reduction, allowing the wines to develop complexity.
