Tasting Notes

This Chardonnay is from Jura in Beaufort (south of Rotalier) on soils of fossilised limestone and blue marl. Sitting at 230m high, the vines appreciate a semi-continental climate (very cold winter, warm and sunny summer days). These are high trained and widely-spaced vines. Hand harvest, then vinified as whole cluster with 12 months in oak barrels 456L (30% new), 8 months in stainless steel tank. This is wine full of energy, tense and saline on the mouth. Authentic nose of reduction from Jura. Wine with a great complexity. Drink now or cellar for up to 10 years.
