Powell & Son is a relatively new wine brand and is the brain child of a man with an incredible reputation – Dave Powell. Over the years Dave has worked at iconic wineries such as Rockford in the heart of the Barossa. Dave’s passion lay in the vineyards where he procured fruit in lieu of payment in the early days. Subsequently, Dave was able to establish Torbreck. It soon became a cult winery from the Barossa Valley, especially in international circles.
A slightly different take on the typical Rhone blend the Powell & Son Riverside GMS offers notes of black raspberries, kirsch and mulberries layered with spicy notes. The palate is soft, richly fruited and delivers plenty of pure, uncomplicated flavours with great harmony. A great wine on it's own or with gamey dishes.
