96 / 100"Gracefully opulent, the wine shows black and purple fruit richness, dark chocolate, cake spice, game and cedary oak characters on the nose. The powerfully concentrated palate exhibits outstanding depth and gorgeously textured mouthfeel, wonderfully framed by beautifully woven tannins. Multi-layered and immensely complex, making it hugely appealing. At its best: 2025 to 2040. $120.00."

"Shiraz sourced from 1999 plantings off the Plowman vineyard, dry grown and established from cuttings taken in the 1960s. Deep, broody blackberry, cassis and black cherry fruits with hints of fruitcake spice, ironstone, roasting meats, salted licorice, crème de cassis, kirsch, rum and raisin chocolate, liquored cherries and olive tapenade. Full bodied with blackberry jam and brandied plum fruits on the palate, a super-concentrated fruit flow with fine tannin and a fairly monolithic finish."

Tasting Notes
This wonderfully opulent, plush and concentrated Shiraz screams quality in its dark berry, liquorice, black fruit jam, espresso and dried citrus-peel aromas and flavours, dense, fine tannins and integrated oak. The flavour intensity, concentration and length suggests a wine of very high quality that's going to age superbly for the next decade or two.
