96 / 100"Splendidly ripe and gorgeously expressed, the bouquet shows cassis, dark plum, cedary oak, clove and subtle tobacco aromas, leading to an impressively concentrated palate delivering terrific power and persistency. It's wonderfully complemented by refined texture and chalky tannins, finishing superbly long and structured. At its best: now to 2035."

"I have a soft spot for cabernet in the Vale, in all its tapenade-basted, minty saline glory. And here it is. In brand new American oak, no less. And yet the maritime climatic scents rise above the oaky clang. Forceful, layered and long, the charry oak largely sublimated by vivid scents of currant, garden herb, sage, nori and bitter chocolate. This is a very good wine. It could be exceptional."

"Dark red in the glass, a hint of age creeping in. Dark fruited aromas abound on the nose, mulberry, plum, blackberry, tobacco and bramble. Powerful on the palate, there’s a core of deep, dark fruit partnering nicely with a touch of mint, full, granular tannins and some bright acidity."

Tasting Notes
This full-bodied wine boasts a velvety texture that caresses the palate, releasing a symphony ripe blackberries, decadent dark chocolates, hints of liquorice, and a subtle embrace of warming spice. Silky, velvety tannins add to its allure, while the wine's impressive depth leaves a lasting impression, with a medium to long finish that echoes with the essence of blackberry, creamy milk chocolate, and an alluring whisper of spice. Matured in oak barrels, ranging from new to 2 year oak. with a mixture of French and American oak.
