96 / 100"It's bold and brooding yet gracious and harmonious with blackcurrant, rich floral, cocoa, cigar and spicy oak notes on the nose. The intensely rich palate delivers powerful fruit flavours as well as captivating savoury undertones, leading to a wonderfully long irresistible finish. At its best: now to 2033. $130.00. July 2022."

"An appealing nose which shows eucalyot, cassis, cigar box and secodary leafy characteristics. The palate is ripe and with gentle powdery tannins, lovely leafy herbal notes and very subtle cedary notes beneath. Astonishing value for a wine of this complexity that is in its absolute sweet spot at the moment. Drink over the next 2-3 years for maximum pleasure"

Tasting Notes
Established in 1903, this producer specialises in producing hand-crafted, high-quality wines from the famed Coonawarra region in South Australia
Coonawarra is nestled in the heart of the Limestone Coast of South Australia. The unique cigar-shaped strip of rich terra rossa soil that defines the region is a one-of-a-kind narrow ridge of earth, just 27 kilometres long and two km wide, is known for producing incomparable red wines – in particular, Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Coonawarra's Terra Rossa soil is one if not the most famous soil types in Australia. A million years in the making, this long, narrow ridge of iron-rich limestone is one of the most unique soil types on the planet. Combined with cool nights and a long, mild gropwing season and there's no surprise this is one of the Southern Hemisphere's premier wine regions!
