98 / 100"The average age of the vines is 88 years, and are both Barossa Valley and Eden Valley; standard static fermentation approach with pumpovers, but varied for each parcel, matured in a mix of new and used French oak. The colour is perfect, the medium-bodied palate exquisitely balanced and proportioned, red and black fruits both on parade; it has an almost airy grace to the way it moves along the palate to a lingering finish."

Tasting Notes
Old Block is seamless, understated and elegant but not to be underestimated. This wine is at the very soul of the Barossa - growers & winemakers working together to extract the very most from the ancient vines aged up to 100 years old. The wine showcases the harmony to be found between Barossa’s two valley sub-regions (Barossa & Eden Valley). A supple, sexy and textural expression of Shiraz. One of Australia’s best.
