97 / 100"A picture of good health, balance, flavour and length. It bristles with freshness, with power, with authority. The fruit - blueberry and blackberry, splashed with earth and ground coffee - is soft, but the tannin is ropey and firm, like arms around a bountiful harvest. A very long life is in store."

"Dark colour with vibrant edges. Rich, cuddly, plum-soaked flavour with smoky vanilla-cream oak melted straight into the fruit. The bear comes to give you a hug. Tannin stretches through the finish the fruits given just enough rein. Terrific big-flavoured Barossa red."

Tasting Notes
Old Block is seamless, understated and elegant but not to be underestimated. This wine is at the very soul of the Barossa - growers & winemakers working together to extract the very most from the ancient vines aged up to 100 years old. The wine showcases the harmony to be found between Barossa’s two valley sub-regions (Barossa & Eden Valley). A supple, sexy and textural expression of Shiraz. One of Australia’s best.
