Scores

96 / 100

"From the two original chardonnay blocks plus plantings from 2013 featuring newer clonal material. Barrel fermented in barriques and puncheons (30% new) and zero mlf. Brightly coloured. Complex with terrific fruit purity in the form of perfectly ripe orchard fruits and with just a hint of matchstick, too. Gentle, slatey and persistent, as good as it is now, this is also a keeper and will continue to blossom over the next few years."

"A full and layered white with sliced apples, lemon rind and honey character. It’s fresh and so flavorful. Terrific length. Drink now or hold."
- James Suckling

95 / 100

"Pale yellow in the glass. Fragrant nose with sweet spices, floral tones, and an undercurrent of smoky complexity. Palate is delicately driven by a fine line of acidity but there's ample fruit power here that is complemented by restrained oak nuances. A wine of introspection and finesse that will reward the drinker for many years to come."

Tasting Notes

Oyster shells, wet rocks, sea spray and orchard fruits. Finesse combine with pillowy fruit weight; this is a wine that has weight and texture coupled with a green apple crunch. An energy drives the palate with a pithy interest and a slippery texture on the back palate the gives ample weight and extraordinary carry. The fruit is supported by an extremely fine grained oak tannin framework which lingers on the finish.
