"I think Mattinson has had a crack at this one too. Be interested to read what he thinks. Mixed berries, mint, nuts and coconut/nougat/coffee oak, and while apparently only 10% of it is new, it sits up quite prominently. It’s medium bodied and fresh, though at this stage the acidity feels somewhat adjunct, with fine grained tannins and a pretty good finish. Not quite together yet, and likely to improve, but at present a little dull."

"Very early, high quality vintage. Aged for 22 months in barriques of which 30% were new and French, the rest a mixture of French and American. Dark crimson. Light nose and nicely balanced, lightly minty Cabernet fruit. All very restrained! Fine tannins lurk. Perhaps it just needs a little more time to unfurl and express itself? Hint of carbolic soap!"
