92 / 100"Sourced from 50+ year old vines on the Adelaide Plains. Bloody bewdiful. This seems a very good vintage for Longhop. Blackberry, mint and liquorice, dusty spicy oak, some tea-like perfume. It’s fleshy and flavoursome, but balanced, a mix of black and red fruit, some grainy chew to tannin, a choc-vanilla richness, and excellent length. It’s powerful but so distinctive and good. A hearty wine that drinks really well. Recommended."

"Made from old vines on the Adelaide Plains, this young red is no city slicker; there’s good Cabernet fruit and a strong core of rustic flavour, gravel dust and a touch of tar on a grippy palate. It’s just a pup with big paws right now, but it gets an extra point for authentic character. Needs time in a dark place. 93+ points. BUY for the cellar."

Tasting Notes
Tim Freeland and Domenic Torzi source precious Adelaide Plains old vine survival plantings from the 1950s.
Coupled with their non-interventional approach to winemaking, Longhop wines are lush, generous and full of flavour.
With this Cabernet Sauvignon expect full bodied flavours of mulberries, blackcurrants and fine ripe tannins. Food match with roast beef or lamb, portabello mushrooms and aged cheeses.
