96 / 100"Light yellow colour; bright lemon rind, beeswax aromas of refined, restrained complexity, oak invisible. Nougat, gently toasted hazelnuts and honey also. Brilliant refinement and intensity, crisp and delicate, marvellous harmony of components. Long persistence allied with low-alcohol delicacy. A wine of real finesse"

"The most opulent and flashy of the three Chardonnays in the Penfolds portfolio, which shines the spotlight on cool-climate Adelaide Hills fruit. Aromas leap from the glass in a statement of powerful intent: ripe yellow apple, peach and juicy pear with and a creamy cashew undercurrent. The palate shows more of the same: upfront, showy and concentrated nectarine, more pear, warm hay and a rich vein of hazelnut and pistachio crème and sweet baking spice from the oak (eight months in French barriques, 75% new). Brisk grapefruit pith-like acidity and a mouthwatering mineral seam rein in the richness."

"Sourced from the Adelaide Hills, whole bunched pressed, the juice sees a mix of wild fermentation and inoculation in both new and seasoned French oak barriques. 100% malo and maturation for 8 months in French oak barriques, 75% new. Pale straw hue, a real step up in complexity and intensity. Oak is evident at this early stage, but integration is underway. Lemon/lime notes, minerals, florals, a walnut character, the texture is seamless, reminiscent of crème brulee. There is really impressive length and an intensity which never waivers. A Chardonnay with punch. Love it – drink now for a decade."

"The purity, precision and confidence of Bin A are on pinpoint form in the great 2022 season, set to a tune of exacting white peach, grapefruit and fig. Toasty, biscuity French oak rises to the occasion, falling in neatly behind the fruit, entangling seamlessly on a finish of outstanding line and length, impeccably framed in vibrant lemon juice acidity that promises great things in the cellar. 8 months maturation in 75% new French oak barriques."

"Pale colour. Vibrant grapefruit, lemon curd aromas with light marzipan, flinty notes. Richly concentrated grapefruit, nectarine, lemon fruits, fine chalky, touch al dente textures, attractive mid-palate creaminess and fresh long cutting acidity. Finish crisp and tight. Should develop in the bottle very well. Very precise but keep for a year before drinking."

Tasting Notes
Reserve Bin A Adelaide Hills Chardonnay is a wine produced by Penfolds, a well-known Australian winemaker. It is a single-region wine, meaning that it is made from grapes grown in a single area, in this case, the Adelaide Hills.
The wine has a pale yellow-green color and a complex aroma of white tropical fruit, subtle reductive flint notes, and a touch of floral. On the palate, the wine is taut with well-integrated wood nuances, good acidity, and white peach, mineral, and saline notes. The finish is long and lingering with hints of lime.
Reserve Bin A Adelaide Hills Chardonnay is a versatile wine that can be enjoyed on its own or with food. It pairs well with seafood, poultry, and cheese. The wine is also suitable for aging, and can develop even more complexity over time.
