The term 'Mitans,' derived from old French for center, aptly describes this Cru's central location within the appellation, nestled beneath the village on the slopes. Leroux's 0.65-hectare plot is situated near the Volnay 1er Cru Clos de la Barre and extends into the Mitans l'Ormeau lieu-dit.
