92 / 100"In bottle (just a small lot – most to follow later). A stainless steel cuvée. Pale in colour, the bouquet is quite restrained. Just a few stones coming out. The palate is much cooler and the reductive element clearly comes through. Excellent persistence. Drink from 2026-2032. Tasted: July 2023."

"Crisp, cool and precise on the palate, there is plenty of sunny, ripe peach fruit, but also a strident line of acidity which is more to the fore at the moment. Needs a few months to balance out, but it will be a fine example of Montmains from a warmer vintage. The estate dates back to 1792."

Tasting Notes
Chablis 1er Cru ‘Montmains’ Jean Collet is a generous and open wine with lovely white flower notes, citrus and tangy notes. There is a characteristic oyster shell note along with crisp acidity followed by more generous fruit on the mid palate. The wine is open and delicious but will benefit from a few more years ageing if you have the patience.
