91 / 100"The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Cherbaudes 1er Cru was showing a little reduction on the nose, but the fruit seems ample; there is crushed strawberry, cranberry and a touch of tea leaf. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, very cohesive and much fresher and delineated compared to the preceding Etelois. Very good length here. This should age with style."

Tasting Notes
Brothers David and Nicolas Rossignol run this 100% Organic and Biodynamically farmed Domaine located in the very heart of Gevrey Chambertin. Very early to the Sustainable farming movement, all the family's vineyards, located in some of the most impressive vineyards in Burgundy, were converted to Certified Organic in 2004. This plot used to produce Chanvre, otherwise known as Chenevrière, and Cherbaude comes from the name of the Chanvre bouquets that were picked at the time. Located on a fractured rock and volcanic plates, its roots run deep into well-drained soil. This Cherbaudes has a bright, ruby colour with fiery shades. Its nose brings an aromatic complexity with floral and herbaceous hints which blend well with its fruity and mineral notes. It has a charming palate with a supple and structured texture. A wine that deserves to be savoured and shared!
