93 / 100"A red with deep and focused character of blackberry, blackcurrant and light ink. Lots of flowers, too, It’s medium-bodied with a solid core of fruit and a long finish. Clarity. 57% merlot, 40% cabernet sauvignon and 3% cabernet franc."

"Clear tannic frame, plenty of interest and impact, with rough hewn slate and graphite, along with cassis and blueberry fruits. Not quite the magical wine that it is in the best vintages but this has concentration and grip, and has recognisable estate signature. Harvest September 24 through to October 4. 3.54ph. No chaptilisation, but reverse osmosis. 40% new oak."

Tasting Notes
The impressive second wine from one of the most iconic producers in Saint-Julien, Château Léoville Las Cases. Although this wine possesses great age-ability, a higher portion of Merlot than the flagship wines gives it more approachability in its youth -Cabernet sauvignon (50%), merlot (44%) and cabernet franc (6%). The wine is generous, aromatic and complex.
