95 / 100"61/26/13& Tasmania/Tumbarumba/Adelaide Hills; eight months in 21% new French oak. A nicely composed, multi-regional chardonnay release. Plenty of concentration – no doubt the lower-yielding Tasmanian component playing its part. Peach and fleshy nectarine with dabs of oatmeal, soft spice, gentle oak, nougat and white flowers. Clotted cream, grilled nuts and grapefruit pith aspects come through on the palate, finishing long and true."

"South-eastern Australia (Tasmania, Tumbarumba, Henty and the Adelaide Hills); matured 8 months in 21% new French oak barriques. A generous and approachable Bin 311 of juicy white peach and pear fruit, supported by toasty cashew nut French oak and touches of buttery lees complexity and earthy reductive nuances. Ready to drink now."

"Light to mid yellow hue; smoky reduction and nutty aromas, palate medium bodied and rich, with big flavour for its size and a lot of secondary complexities from oak and lees. A fuller flavoured Bin 311. Smart chardonnay indeed. Already showing well. (Tasmania, Tumbarumba, Henty & Adelaide Hills) 03 JUL 2024"

Tasting Notes
Penfolds Bin 311 Chardonnay is a medium-bodied white wine that is made from a blend of Chardonnay grapes from cool-climate regions in Australia, including Adelaide Hills, Tumbarumba, and Tasmania. The wine is fermented and aged in oak barrels, which gives it a complex flavor profile with notes of lemon, lime, apple, pear, and vanilla. It has a minerally finish and a moderate acidity.
Bin 311 Chardonnay is a versatile wine that can be enjoyed on its own or with food. It pairs well with seafood, chicken, and pasta dishes. The wine is also known for its aging potential, so it can be enjoyed for several years after it is released.
