Tasting Notes
This benchmark domaine first gained its reputation under Andre Dezat but is now in the safe hands of his grandsons Arnaud and Firmin who have recently divided the estate between them, Arnaud now working alongside his sister Stephanie. There are 20 hectares around five villages, 15 hectares being planted with Sauvignon Blanc (the rest with Pinot Noir for their excellent red and rose wines). Yields are low and the wines meticulously made, the Sancerre Blanc combing ripe, expressive fruit with the delicate flinty minerality and citrus freshness typical of the region. The nose is classic Sancerre, with aromas of citrus, apple and grass, as well as a beguiling smoky note. The palate is relatively rich (owing to a warm vintage) yet fresh, with a long, mineral finish.
