96 / 100"The 2019 Barolo Margheria is a classic Serralunga Barolo. Deep, savory and wonderfully complex, the Margheria offers up a compelling mix of red/purplish fruit, sage, menthol, licorice, dried flowers, graphite and melted road tar. Muscular tannins wrap it all together. The 2019 is seriously impressive."

"Raspberry, roses, such perfume and finesse, almond too. Succulent, a flood of ripe red fruit and mouth-perfume, Such succulence, perfume and poise, a pinch of orange zest, supple ‘minerally’ feel to tannin, and gee they sit so well inside the wine, and the finish is long and pure with a brick dust/crushed stone texture. Parussi seems to have gone up a notch in 2019. Superb."

"Fully focused on restrained root aromas such as rhubarb and liquorice, wrapped up in sweet violet, rose. red currants and pomegranate, this 2019 is quite austere, with good concentration of blood orange on the finish, yet thick, dusty and austere tannins. It will evolve with its sternness. The wine ages for 30 months in large Slavonian oak."

"Very pretty with pure and fresh fruit and focused tannins. Medium- to full-bodied with ultra-fine tannins and a bright and vivid finish. Shows tension and brightness. Flowers and sliced strawberries at the end."

Tasting Notes
Another powerful and impressive Barolo from Massolino. The Parussi Cru vineyard's broad nose of dark fruit, earth and rosewood is beautifully complete and compelling. The ripe tannins and acid may need a little time to integrate, but you can savour this exceptional wine ahead of schedule with a good decant. Still, you'll probably enjoy this experience much more in the knowledge you have some bottles aging as well. Seriously good.
