95 / 100"Estate-sourced, Coal River Valley pinot noir matured in seasoned French oak for 18 months. The Domaine A Pinot Noir has always been a deeper, resonant expression of the variety. It's concentrated and darkly fruited, with black cherry at its core and red fruit tones at the periphery. Packed with dark spice too and hints of tobacco, soft cedary oak, pastis, kirsch and licorice. If you seek fruit density, fine tannins and a stony, savoury intensity, you've hit pay dirt."

Tasting Notes
“After a several-year hiatus while we waited for our new pinot noir vines to grow, the Stoney Vineyard Pinot Noir returns—juicy, fresh and floral. Drawn from a new block at the bottom of the vineyard, the fruit character is bright and light, with fresh raspberries and wafts of baked cherry pie overlaid by floral, almost peachy spice notes. Palate is light but well structured, with skinsy tannins and good supporting acid. A vibrant expression of a promising new block.” – Domaine A Ripe and quite substantially weighted, this powerful Tassie Pinot was matured in seasoned French oak barriques for 18 months. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Perfumed like aromas of violets, dark cherries and strawberries emanate from the glass trailed by earthy forest floor, subtle anise and lightly toasted spicy cedar notes. Rich, medium weighted spicy dark cherry and ripe strawberry fruits engulf the mouth with an undercard of earthy forest floor, anise and toasty cedar. Polished yet sturdy tannins with a long ripe, spicy aftertaste.
