96 / 100"St-Vivant in all its glory! Quite deep in colour, this offers an intensely perfumed nose that's wonderfully elegant and steeped in raspberry fruit. Although rich and sumptuous on the palate, it still has a cool edge typical of the vintage, and a tight structure. The finish is intense, racy and exceptionally long. This is still in its infancy."

"Bright dark red. Tighter and darker on the nose than the Suchots, hinting at black fruits, licorice, minerals and flowers. Also less sweet in the mouth but already delivers outstanding tension and definition, with the dark fruit and bitter chocolate flavors complicated by an element of noble herbs. The superb palate-staining finish features firm, suave tannins and outstanding subtle persistence. This aristocratic wine will need more patience than the Suchots but should ultimately surpass it."

Tasting Notes
Just a few metres from Romanée-Conti, this plot is raised organically in order to protect its richness. In the winery, the grapes are put into vats without being crushed and undergo a cold pre-fermentation phase for 3 days. During the classic alcoholic fermentation, very few interventions are made, and these vary depending on the temperature. The barrelling process is left to gravity, and 30% of these are new wood. The wine has a splendid aromatic bouquet that lines the palate with fruity, floral and eventually spicy notes.
Established in 1858, Arnoux-Lachaux is a family affair. Pascal Lachaux (son-in-law of the late Robert Arnoux) is the fifth generation making wine at this Domaine, which has significant grand Cru holdings. he is now working in the winery with his son Charles who has joined him after working in wine regions in New Zealand, South Africa and Oregon.
