"The 2015 Corton Clos Rognets Grand Cru has a tightly-wound bouquet with a vein of grey slate permeating the red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin in the mouth, quite grainy in texture with a strict, quite linear finish, hints of hoisin just lingering on the aftertaste. There is good energy here and it should gain more cohesion by the time of bottling, and may possess the longest aging potential."

"A very ripe yet still agreeably fresh and beautifully complex nose is comprised by liqueur-like aromas of spice, plum, earth and the classic wisp of the sauvage. There is outstanding richness and concentration to the powerful and mouth coating flavors that deliver seriously good persistence on the impeccably well-balanced finish. This is a big but graceful wine that should also amply repay extended cellaring, indeed it's going to require at least a decade of it."

"The 2015 Clos Rognet is another superb Corton in the making chez Méo, with the wine offering up a very, very pure and still quite primary bouquet of red and black cherries, plums, venison, woodsmoke, a fine base of soil and cedary oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite plush on the attack, with a rock solid core, fine soil signature, fine-grained tannins and a very long, tangy and youthfully promising finish. The only missing ingredient here is time in bottle!"

"Healthy dark red with ruby highlights. Very ripe, slightly liqueur-like aromas of kirsch, blackberry, licorice and minerals. Wonderfully fine-grained and suave, with almost shocking acidity giving penetration and lift to its highly concentrated flavors of black fruits, licorice and stony minerality. An intriguing salty element adds another dimension. Finishes with huge but fully buffered tongue-coating tannins and outstanding length. This youthfully tight wine has the scale and structure for a long life in bottle."

Jean-Nicolas Méo owns vines in the lieux-dits of Grand Mapertuis and Près du Cellier (two very good ones). His Vougeot is marked by richness, concentration, velvety structure, broad aromatics, length, and power. It is a complete wine, and one that merits at least eight years of bottle age before it is enjoyed.

One of Burgundy's great estates, Vosne-Romanee based Domaine Meo Camuzet is intrinsically linked to one of the great winemakers of the region, Henri Jayer who con
