Otherwise there is excellent intensity to the more mineral-driven and muscular flavors that possess impressive size, weight and power, all wrapped in a very firm and strikingly persistent finish. While there is a hint of warmth the overall balance is such that this should generously reward extended cellaring but note well that this won't make for especially good early drinking."

"The 2015 Corton-Perrieres Grand Cru didn't show quite the same detail and terroir expression as the Corton La Vigne Au Saint this year, though there are still attractive blackberry, wild strawberry and licorice aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, good weight in the mouth, the fruit veering towards blackberry and mulberry towards the finish, a hint of cocoa lingering on the aftertaste. It needs to meld together but it should be fine by the time of bottling."

"Bright ruby-red color. More stony lift on the nose than the Vigne au Saint, offering scents of redcurrant, charcoal, licorice, smoky silex minerality and sexy sweet oak (two-thirds new). Concentrated, dense and youthfully backward, conveying a lovely savory intensity but also a captivating sweetness to its flavors of black cherry, licorice, charcoal and smoky minerality. Firmly tannic and very long on the back end; perhaps not as rich as the Rognets but boasts terrific minerality. The crop level here was barely 30 hectoliters per hectare, according to Méo"

Tasting Notes
The Corton Grand Cru Les Perrières is grown on a plot of land to the north of Aloxe which is scattered with pebbles - hence the name 'Perrières', meaning 'stones'. This wine is characteristic of the appellation: powerful, full-bodied and highly concentrated, defined by its minerality and fullness. We advise waiting a few years before consuming this wine to allow the tannins to develop.
Jean-Nicolas Méo owns vines in the lieux-dits of Grand Mapertuis and Près du Cellier (two very good ones). His Vougeot is marked by richness, concentration, velvety structure, broad aromatics, length, and power. It is a complete wine, and one that merits at least eight years of bottle age before it is enjoyed.
One of Burgundy's great estates, Vosne-Romanee based Domaine Meo Camuzet is intrinsically linked to one of the great winemakers of the region, Henri Jayer who consulted to the winery for many years. Currently run by Jean-Nicolas Meo the estates vineyards are farmed organically and include spe
