95 / 100"Not then brightest in terms of colour, but gee it really has some get up and go. Strawberry, raspberry, mandarin skin, spice and earthiness. It’s light but full of energy, so much crunch and sappy strawberry flavour, cool and long, fine pumice stone tannin, and a sappy red fruited finish of excellent length. A bit umami with it, but precision, tightness and vigour is the thing here. Light but so brightly lit. Excellent."

"Peter Dredge sourced the pinot noir for this particular wine from the Derwent Valley in the south of Tasmania. Bright, light ruby with notes of red cherries, mulberry and raspberry fruits cut with exotic spice, hanging game, amaro herbs, red licorice and citrus blossom. Chalky and airy with a nice blast of raspberry on the palate, a seam of mineral-laden saline acidity and a real lipsmacking finish. A lighter, funkier and filigreed style."

Tasting Notes
South is from the Upper Derwent valley at Meadowbank, where old sand dunes stood long ago. All whole berry, 25% whole bunch - natural yeast - no new oak. One of the few inland Vineyards the nights are cold, the wines are ethereal, bright and acid driven. Strawberry Fields Forever.
