98 / 100"Attractively perfumed Pinot Noir with a heady mix of floral and cherry aromas. Pure power on the palate with a fine-boned, elegant yet intense wine that produces an extraordinarily lengthy finish. In addtion to cherry and floral the palate features an array of spices and a subtle savoury character that are both hard to precisely define. It all adds up to a very appealing wine with great potential 19 NOV 2012"

"Medium to full purple/red colour. Spicy cherry aromas. Clean, fresh and fruit-driven with a trace of leather and undergrowth from interactions with oak. The palate is taut and firm with some oaky tannins and a clean, dry finish. A well structured wine with quite a firm spine and excellent persistence. Will reward cellaring. 14 NOV 2012"

"Stylish and very intense, with outstanding concentration to an impressive array of pomegranate, spice, soya and stone flavors. Cedary oak and firm, fine-grained tannins underscore the finish."

"Warm vintage with a humid February and a little botrytis. The crew needed to be very careful when picking. Slightly fusty nose. Rich and rusty nose with quite a dry finish. This tastes as though concentrated by small berries but it’s not one of the freshest or finest Felton Road Pinots."

Tasting Notes
Felton Road is a premium wine producer stablished in 1991, the estate owns 32 ha of vineyards in the Bannockburn sub-region. They prioritise minimal intervention in both the vineyard and the winery, resulting in wines of unparalleled purity and complexity.
"Subtle aromas of exotic spices, dark roses, violets and dried red fruits. The palate is instantly about texture, richness, copious fine dark tannin and hints of spice; but fruit takes a distant back seat somewhere way down in the darkness. In a few years the treasure chest will no doubt open, but right now it is all intrigue. Polished and seamless with the usual luxuriant Block 5 finish." - Felton Road
