96 / 100"Supple, fruity pinot noir with distinct violet, red rose, dark cherry, spice, anise and thyme characters. A silken-textured wine with a long and seamless finish. Very approachable now but promises to develop well with bottle age 18 JAN 2018"

"Sotto voce. Far less immediate than their Bannockburn Pinot Noir, and even that was on the subtle side. Correct red fruit and well-integrated oak spice, but all very buttoned down and awkward. Needs time? -Richard Hemming MW"

Tasting Notes
Felton Road is a premium wine producer stablished in 1991, the estate owns 32 ha of vineyards in the Bannockburn sub-region. They prioritise minimal intervention in both the vineyard and the winery, resulting in wines of unparalleled purity and complexity.
"Wafts of elegant perfumed florals dominate the nose in the usual Calvert manner, but with a stronger emphasis in this very precise and attractively scented vintage. Hints of crushed spice and red fruits give way again to a cascade of florals on the palate. Ethereal, sophisticated and majestic. The finish is tightly focussed with its characteristic fine grained and seamless tannins. Silky and long." - Felton Road
