The capacity of this Pinot Noir to be strong, muscular but still fit in the very elegant category is just showing me the level of craft to get there.

"A pleasing ruby colour. The bouquet shows the perfect match of Vosne hedonistic fruit with the extra weight of Nuits-St-Georges. Fruit floods the palate, dark raspberry, a light acidity, tannins submerged beneath the fruit, a light touch of oak, and remarkably persistent. Very fine indeed. Enjoy it because two thirds of the plot on 161/49 rootstock was taken out after the 2022 harvest. Drink from 2032-2040."

Tasting Notes

The style of the Domaine is defined by elegance and purity. The vineyard “Les Murgers” is located in the Vosne-Romanée side of Nuits-Saint-Georges, often considered to be more feminine in style than the muscular Pinot Noir from the other side of the village.

Revealing a sturdy mid-red-purple complexion, this wine seamlessly revisits a peppery style, gracefully accompanied by robust fruit characteristics. In a manner that's subtly less hedonistic than some of its counterparts from previous years, this particular vintage unfolds with a refreshing dominance of fresh red raspberry fruit. The interplay of these elements paints a nuanced picture of a wine that strikes a balance between its inherent boldness and a more restrained, yet vibrant, expression.
