95 / 100"Hand-picked fruit from the Lower Derwent Valley; up to 25% whole bunches; gentle hand plunging and occasional pumpovers. Matured 10 months in 30% new, large-format French oak. Stunning Derwent Valley pinot noir of grace and beauty. Varietally exact red and black cherry fruits are the theme, amplified and never distracted by skilful, subtle work with whole bunches and French oak. Great potential. Purity, class and joy!"

Tasting Notes
On the winemaking ethos behind this wine, Chief Winemaker Liam McElhinney said: "Matured in large-format French oak for ten months (35% new). The first wine produced under the Lowestoft label using fruit from the Lowestoft estate, a nearby Derwent Valley vineyard, and select fruit from the Huon Valley and Coal River Valley.
The wine has a lovely lift and reveals layers of dark powerful fruit, nuanced by hints of earth and red berry. Evocative and complex all at once. The palate is powerfully fruited yet reveals a super fine and juicy tannin structure. Raspberry pip tannins carry the palate long, and perfect natural acidity ensures the wine is fresh and rewards cellaring."
