96 / 100"Gorgeously styled and immensely complex, the wine shows dark berry, smoked game, dried mushroom and toasted nut characters on the nose, leading to a concentrated palate delivering plush texture combined with silky flow and beautifully melded tannins. Wonderfully harmonious and delectably appealing. At its best: now to 2034."

"A selection of the top plots and barrels from the Estate. There is distinction in this glass with macerated strawberries, raspberry coulis and pink peppercorn. A sway of blackberries and rosemary with a swirl of vanilla pods and coffee beans. Yes, the wine is built for aging with a nod to the royal oak treatment and care of its fine line of acidity. Tannins are dusty and are quickly followed by succulence which can only come from grape tannins and perhaps a touch of whole bunches. It’s wonderfully powerful, yet delicate and flavorful from start to long tapering finish. This is the kind of pinot noir that just rewards you with each sip, glass and bottle you buy. Drink now and will cellar glacially for up to 8 years. A fine match for grass fed beef tenderloin and Béarnaise Sauce."

"Pinot noir sourced from either a single block or single barrel at the Riversdale Coal River Valley estate. There is a step up in latent aromatic power and complexity here, with impressive fruit depth and grace. Laden with complex spice and hints of forest floor, some game meat facets and a lick of judicious French oak with a Burgundian flow on the palate. Tannin and acid poised just so, and a sveltely fruited finish with a Savoury flick of its tail."

Tasting Notes
Named after the constellation above due to the Estate’s proximity to the Grote Reber Radio Telescope, Centaurus is our most expressive Pinot Noir. This wine originates from the most unique blocks located amongst the old vines & along the banks of Pittwater. Often darker & full bodied this wine is a pure expression of the conditions it was made in. American & French oak is used in the making of this wine.
