Tasting Notes
A fascinating Tamar Valley Pinot Noir here from Gilli & Paul Lipscombe.
Their signature Pinot Noir style is typically very structural and savoury. With their home-grown fruit from the Huon Valley, they find power and muscle from a very marginal site. In this Pinot iteration, that same strength of tannin and savouriness is combined with the bright red fruit and silkiness of the Tamar Valley.
Supple, smooth and with beautiful depth of fruit, this is a fantastic new addition to the Sailor Seeks Horse range and of course, as always, is very limited. Pommard clone, whole berry ferment, 9 months in oak – delicate, perfumed, red-fruited, fine tannin.
