97 / 100"Good depth of red-purple colour, bright, the bouquet quite foresty in a strongly whole-bunchy style, dark and red cherry, blackberry and raspberry nuances, some clove/ginger/angelica traces, complex and beguiling. Great palate intensity with fine grained tannins and plenty of extract backing it up. A multi-dimensional pinot which entertains to the last. (All clone 114). Date Tasted: Mar 2023; Drink: 2023 to 2033"

"Medium Crimson. Fresh strawberry pastille, raspberry, hint of chinotto aromas with underlying savoury notes. Beautifully balanced wine with strawberry pastille, raspberry, fine bittersweet tannins and some vanilla notes. Builds up al dente and juicy at the finish. Very fruity and buoyant with attractive venosity and freshness. Drink now - 2028"

Tasting Notes
The Lenswood Pinot Noir is the top red wine in the esteemed Shaw + Smith stable.
From block one in their Lenswood Vineyard. First planted in 1999, it has east and west facing aspects and reaches 500 metres above sea level. The soil is brown loam over clay with some broken shale and stone on the ridges. A Pinot Noir of delicacy and fragrance, with fresh acid, and subtle layers of flavour and texture. Deep in colour, with red fruit and spice aromas. Complex and dense with a bright palate and savoury
finish.
If classy, cool-climate Pinot Noir is your thing, this is a beautiful Australian example that will find a very happy place in your cellar.
