97 / 100"Deep red with a good tint of purple in the rim, the bouquet showing tobacco/cedar, nori/briar and peaty/iodine-like nuances. It's full-bodied and powerful, with lavish tannins, bright acidity and good concetration. Redcurrant and blackberry—red and black fruits both evident. A very smart and ageworthy cabernet."

"Cabernet has been on the up and up with Leeuwin over recent years. Blackcurrant, redcurrant jelly, baking spice and bay leaf, perhaps a little high on the camphor/menthol though it sits well enough with all the other assorted perfume. It’s svelte and slinky, such an even flow and regal carriage of flavour here, a fine graphite grip, rosehip and port wine jelly succulence, maybe some dark tobacco, with a fine finish of excellent length. Stylish. Effortless. Very good."

"This is a sensational Art Series Cab. It is certainly my favorite vintage for a long while, and it all kicks off with the most sensitive of perfumes. Cooler on the nose and stunningly civilized on the palate, this is a composed wine with a long-lived stance and a pinch of delightful sourness on the finish. It is all in perfect harmony, and I sense this wine has astounding potential. While I haven’t scored any wines in this review on purpose, a couple of the bottles at this masterclass had me reaching for 19/20 scores, and this was one of them."

"Lovely colour, deep, dark and very youthful. Complex and lifted aromas of bramble, dried herbs, cassis, wild thyme, cedar and tobacco. Dark, inky and concentrated in flavour. Blackberry, briar, satsuma plum, creamy oak and spice are all at play. Layered, complex, mouth-filling and with plenty of classic Margaret River cabernet qualities. The tannins are firm, textured and shapely and the acidity has precise cut and drive. Sophisticated, multi-faceted and delicious"

"A stylish and poised cabernet from a year that was kind to most cabernet regions. The texture has been built in with 100% barrel fermentation and nine months in oak. Blackcurrant and cracked seashell graphite character control the nose. The palate is still quite firm held by the chalky tannins are fine and precise. A nice lick of oak with some nice bay leaf and black olive nuances. Stacks up rather well."

Tasting Notes
Elevated, perfumed and fragrant, notes of bay leaf, clove and dried sage meet opulent blackcurrant and dark cherries.
Generous layers of dark forest fruits on the palate with cacao, coffee and anise. Vibrancy and energy is underlined with a mineral and graphite acid line and delicate elegant finish.
