Tasting Notes
Tim Freeland and Domenic Torzi source precious Adelaide Plains old vine survival plantings from the 1950s.
Coupled with their non-interventional approach to winemaking, Longhop wines are lush, generous and full of flavour.
With this Cabernet Sauvignon expect full bodied flavours of mulberries, blackcurrants and fine ripe tannins. Food match with roast beef or lamb, portabello mushrooms and aged cheeses.

93 / 100"From Normans Vineyard, Adelaide Plains, planted 1952. Ripe black fruit, a little bit tarry, but it also has some floral perfume, and appropriate spicy cedar oak. It’s dense and packed with flavour, black cherry, blackberry and dark mint chocolate, tightly packed silty tannin, something a little bit deep and ferrous here too, with a firm finish of good length. Plenty of chew and depth, and yet it retains some varietal character, but most of all, it speaks of place. Very good."

"Old vine Adelaide Plains Cabernet that’s chunky and impressively full. Dom Torzi & Tim Freeland’s label delivers bargains on repeat, and no change here. Milk chocolate, red earth, gritty red earth tannins – it’s bold, warm, ripe with swathes of black fruit. You won’t die wondering but damn this is a lot of wine for $19.99. Has length too."
