94 / 100"Vine Vale is ground zero for top-shelf Barossa grenache and the highly regarded Ahrens' Creek vineyard, planted in the 1840s, is up there with the best in the region. Fragrant plum and red-cherry fruit flow first, cut through with notes of Asian spice, ginger cake, mulberry and pressed flowers. Medium bodied with gentle, sandy tannin tugging at the roof of the mouth, finishing savoury with a plume of spiced plums."

"Pristine and exquisitely expressed, the wine shows ripe cherry, plum, violet and mixed spice characters on the nose, followed by a delicious palate offering layers of silky texture and a persistent velvety finish. A stunning beauty displaying outstanding fruit purity and poise. At its best: 2024 to 2038"

Tasting Notes
Our 4 acre Grenache block is the highest in our stand-alone vineyard at Trial Hill, with a beautiful Norht-facing aspect high above the Barossa Valley. The soil is red-brown earth formed from marble and calsilicate rock, with micas, schists and quartzes and underlying water-retentive red clay. A good vintage. The grapes were picked in early April. Fine weather throughout allowed for clean even ripening without disease pressure. Moderate yields
