Tasting Notes
The 2021 Rose is a classic rosè from Sutton Grange made in the “methode ancestrale” or “petillant naturel” style. This means the wine finishes the end of the primary fermentation in bottle, capturing the essence of the single vintage and vineyard. It is aged on lees over winter and was lightly disgorged to remove heavy tartrates (although light lees remain). This wine is extremely versatile and enjoyed as an aperitif or at its best with antipasto or light seafood dishes. A pale pink colour, with the characteristic cloudiness of Ancestralé method sparkling wine. Bright and fresh aromas of strawberries rose petals and spice. It has bright, clean cranberry flavours, with lots of volume in the palate. The finish has a freshening raspberry tang combined with a dry, chalky texture. A bright, fun, festive drink. Serve cold. Also tastes great in a spritz
