93 / 100"The nose is discrete and minerally, with aromas of lemon peel, pink grapefruit and flint. The palate is medium-bodied with focused acidity, a generous mouthfeel and notes of guavas, candied limes and orange blossoms. High tension with underlying power."

Tasting Notes
Leeuwin Estate is one of the founding wineries of the now famous Margaret River district. In 1972, legendary Napa Valley winemaker, Robert Mondavi, first identified the future site of the Leeuwin vineyard as being ideal for the production of premium wine and provided early mentorship to Denis and Tricia Horgan who founded Leeuwin Estate in 1974. The initial vineyards were planted by hand over a five year period from 1975. Maintaining a team of highly skilled and dedicated winemakers, Leeuwin Estate is now under the direction of two generations of the founding family. Bright, fragrant and floral, the nose has an abundance of limes, lemons and Cape gooseberries. Beneath subtleties of nettle, Thai basil and lemongrass enhance the depth and layers on the nose. Finely tuned, textured and layered, the palate has a bright fruit spectrum centred on quince, lemon and lime. There is gentle weight through the mid-palate, creating dimension with a structural yet seamless acid spine.
