Tasting Notes
Another superb Pinot Noir from legendary maker Tim Knappstein, who is a master with this fickle variety. This is a reserve-grade wine made from the best parcels of fruit. Pale ruby. Redcurrant, Campari spice, liquorice and savoury oak. Firm yet seamless, with a spicy mix of spicy red fruit, kitchen spice and liquorice, stalky tannin grip and lovely balance of oak and acidity.

95 / 100"Tim and Nick Knappstein’s portfolio of Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir is worth taking note of – seriously, for value at one end (The Dagger/ $24) to this delightful expression with its floral, almost heady fragrance, aromatic herbs like sage and thyme top noting cherry pie like flavours, with a spritely palate structure, juicy and enticing acidity, neatly comforted with stick tannins that carry the flavour line and fruit notes out the window and into the distance. Absolutely delicious from the outset."

"A very fine Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir, crimson in colour, offering alluring fragrances of raspberries, sarsaparilla, cranberries, soy, animal skins and deftly handled oak. There is bright acidity on the palate, a lingering finish and sleek tannins. Lots to like here and it should drink beautifully for the next five to seven years."

"A beautiful exotic waft of perfumes greets initially. Cherry and strawberry nuances with a spicy truffle-like lift. The palate is light-bodied but carries plenty of flavour intensity. Fine silky tannins and a little fine-grained oak bring the palate to life with a degree of nervous energy. Chalky tannins tighten and control while the finish is long with slightly savoury notes."
