Langmeil is home to The Freedom Shiraz vineyard, which we believe was planted in 1843 by vigneron Christian Auricht.
His original plantings survive to this day and at 170 years old are some of the oldest and rarest vines in the world.

"(raised for two years in French oak hogsheads and barriques, two-thirds of them new): Inky ruby. Heady, assertively perfumed scents of fresh black and blue fruits, incense, vanilla and smoky minerals, with a suave floral topnote building in the glass. Oak-spiced blackberry and boysenberry flavors unfold slowly, picking up spicecake and cola nuances on the back half and staining the palate on the sweet, supple finish. Velvety tannins sneak in late to add grip"
