"Weighty load of granitic earth with plenty of elegant fruit. A powerful start. Very savoury on the palate with dried herbs, a la Southern Rhone garrigue and oily plump black olives covered in these herbs. The inevitable comparisons of the Old World come to mind. Is there anything like Old/New World anymore? Anyway, tannins are judicious, velvety. It’s bloody, meaty, chewy and with a cool finish. One of those wines that make a delicious statement with a few, but pure and great quality components."
