95 / 100"Wild-fermented with 80% whole berries and 20% whole bunches, matured in French puncheons (33% new) for (18% new). More magic from Turon White with perfumed rose petal and foresty aromas and flavours. The wine is at the gentle end of medium-bodied, but its balance and length will serve it well for decades."

Tasting Notes
Turon White, a young and influential winemaker in the New Wave Adelaide Hills movement, exemplifies his talent with wines like this, despite only a few vintages under his belt. Part of the Artist Series, this Adelaide Hills Syrah is as unique as the label it adorns, designed by the talented artist Kellie Em, guided by Turon's metaphoric vision. The label depicts a powerful lion.
The wine itself is dark and mysterious, initially presenting salty and sultry tamari notes, which evolve into flavors of wild cherry, ripe blackberry, thorns, and hints of aging. The palate is characterized by peppery intensity, accented with eucalyptus and anise, while the tannins provide structure, although they carry a subtle softness. Despite its 14.4% alcohol content, the wine finishes on a fresh note. It's an excellent companion for grilled lamb.
