Tasting Notes
The soil here is a mix of both quartz and ironstone and the vineyard’s high altitude allows for slow ripening that leads to a very soft and elegant Shiraz.
Yacca Block sits at the top of Menglers Hill in Eden Valley and is a prime example of the role sub-regionality plays in serious winemaking with this vineyard only a short drive from the Western Ranges of Barossa Valley where the Two Hands Cellar Door is located.

Scores
96 / 100"This 2020 Yacca Block Menglers Hill Shiraz is enthralling in its delivery of Earl Grey tea, graphite, black pepper, hung deli meat and layers of salted blueberries. It is my favorite of the 2020 single-vineyard releases for its perfume, its detail and the tannins. Sensational stuff."
