Tasting Notes

The gorgeous, celebratory ‘Blanc de Blancs’ bubbly from Mr. Mick has crisp apple and citrus aromas, with classic notes of buttered toast, and lovely bottle age richness too. It's the perfect glass to toast the weekend… Thanks Gela!

Mr. Mick is named after K.H. (Mr. Mick) Knappstein, a legend within the Australian winemaking industry. One of Mr Mick’s passions in life was to make wines for everyone to enjoy, a tradition his last apprentice, Clare Valley winemaker Tim Adams, continues in his name. Today Tim and wife Pam are proud custodians of this landmark property, making wines from grapes grown in local vineyards, following Knappstein’s philosophy of making fresh, easy-drinking, lifestyle wines.

Tim himself is a renowned Clare Valley winemaker, with his own winery Tim Adams Wines a constant recipient of awards, reviews and accolades in Australia and overseas. In 2016 Tim was recognised as one of Australia’s top ten iconic winemakers in the book ‘Ten Apostles - Stories of Australia's Iconic Winemakers’.

The Mr. Mick ‘Gela’ Cuvée Brut is named after Mr. Mick’s wife, Gela, celebrating their enduring partnership in life and love, and made from Chardonnay and Semillon (and a splash of Riesling), harvested from vineyards throughout the Clare Valley.
