Tasting Notes
With origins dating back to the 18th century, Château Beau-Séjour Bécot has long been one of Saint-Émilion’s most revered estates. Originally part of the vast Beau-Séjour vineyard, the property was acquired by the Bécot family in 1969, who have since elevated its reputation through meticulous vineyard management and winemaking excellence. The 1995 vintage, shaped by a warm and dry growing season, has evolved into a complex and harmonious wine. Offering aromas of ripe plum, tobacco, and earthy spice, it retains freshness and structure through refined tannins and vibrant acidity. A magnificent example of mature Right Bank Bordeaux, this vintage showcases the château’s heritage and dedication to quality.

94 / 100"As I wrote last year, the 1995 Montrose is beginning to drink brilliantly, and this most recent example only confirms that. Wafting from the glass with a classic bouquet of red and black currant fruit, rich loamy soil, cigar box and black truffles, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with terrific concentration, ripe tannins and lively acids. The 1995 took its time, but this rather structured, powerful vintage of Montrose is now beginning to soften. - William Kelley (Published: Dec 22, 2023)"

"Fully mature, this is one of the better wines from this often, stern vintage. The tannins are soft and polished. The fruit is fresh, ripe, clean and pure. The nose offers up a distinctive, thyme, espresso, truffle, mocha covered, black cherry and plum personality. The silky texture and ripe, red fruits taste as nice as it feels. You can drink this now, or age it for further development. - Jeff Leve"
