Tasting Notes
Brilliant pale straw colour with tinges of green around the edges and a watery hue. Showing some restraint at first the nose opens up to reveal scents of dried honey and delicate white peaches with a cashew overlay followed by some biscuit, nougat and spice. The palate exhibits greater freshness and a leaner textural feel than the 2012 and is going to require some time to fill out. It features flavours of delicate white peaches and cashew followed by some biscuity nougat, hazelnut, light dried honey and spice. Clean dry finish. Long aftertaste of cashew, biscuity nougat, hazelnut and spice. The 2013 Curly Flat Chardonnay is more about elegance and refinement.

Scores
96 / 100"Whole bunch-pressed, fermented in French oak (52% new), 18 months maturation, 20% mlf. Bright, light straw-green; in the typically tightly wound Curly Flat style: very, very long and well-balanced, fruit ? not oak ? in the driver's seat. The attention to detail is awesome, more than almost any other Australian chardonnay."
