93 / 100"(2021 vintage) This is Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir in a good place. The fruit here is good but it’s about more than that. It’s a complex wine, savoury and a touch meaty, but these extra fancies lie beneath the surface and are not overt. I like it like that: it’s the fresh face of maturity, if you will. Strawberry and cherry flavours are the main go though swish, polished, cedarwood oak plays a handy role too. The feet of this wine may well be beating fast but you’d never know; it presents as elegant, supple and refreshing throughout, everything neat, everything pleasing, the line between under- and over-ripeness perfectly negotiated."

Tasting Notes
Kooyong Estate Pinot Noir comprises fruit from the Meres, Haven and Ferrous blocks. It offers an overall expression of the Kooyong vineyard.
Minimal intervention. Fermentation of all wines occurs spontaneously with native ambient yeasts. This is also the case for the malolactic fermentations. French oak is used for all barrel matured wines, bottled unfined and unfiltered.
The expressive nose reveals a delightful combination of black and red cherry, raspberries, muted smoky aromas, while the palate offers up a supple mid-palate weight that is framed by fine tannins. Intense floral flavours and a hint of oak spice complete the picture, creating an enjoyable and elegant Pinot Noir that will cellar nicely.
