96 / 100"Intense, crafted syrah with impressive purity and subtle power. Cassis, dark berry/blueberry, black pepper, floral/violet and subtle dark chocolate flavours with a seasoning of mixed spices. Accessible now but with plenty of cellaring potential."

Tasting Notes
With each berry picked individually at perfect ripeness by his 50-person-strong vintage crew, only the very best fruit makes it to the final wine from Hiro Kusuda's tiny Martinborough vineyard.
A vibrant and youthful Syrah, displaying notes of violet, cherry, spice, anise, black and white pepper, and a touch of elegant French oak. The wine unfurled its flavours as it lingered in the glass, indicating a potential improvement with aeration and bottle aging. A superb Syrah crafted in the distinctive Kusuda style.
Hiro's wines sell out incredibly quickly. This won't last long.
